Temperature:
Citrus trees (such as orange, lime, mandarin, and pomelo) can grow and thrive in a temperature range of 13–38°C, with the optimal range being 23–29°C. Below 13°C, the tree stops growing; below -5°C, it may die.
Light:
Citrus trees are not suitable for direct, intense sunlight. The ideal light intensity for citrus trees is about 10,000–15,000 lux, which is equivalent to the natural light at around 8 a.m. or 4–5 p.m. during sunny days.
Water:
Citrus trees require a high amount of water, especially during flowering and fruit development stages. However, they are also highly sensitive to waterlogging. In the rainy season, if the groundwater level is high and drainage is poor, the roots may rot, leaves turn yellow, and the tree can die.
